It’s easy to forget just how much can be packed flat these days \u2014 including an entire garden shed. This week we assembled and installed a Keter Cortina Alto for a client, and the whole thing arrived as a stack of moulded panels in a single box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flat-packed, fully featured<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Out of the box, the shed’s wall and roof panels come as dense, ribbed resin panels, nested together with the hardware and instructions tucked in on top. It looks more like patio furniture packaging than a structure big enough to walk into \u2014 but that’s the appeal of resin shed systems like this one: no timber to cut, no concrete stumps, and no risk of rot or rust once it’s up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s inside?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once assembled, the Cortina Alto has genuinely usable storage: two full-width shelves up high for lighter items, and enough floor space below for taller gear \u2014 a shoe rack and a broom shown here for scale, but plenty of room for garden tools, bikes, or bins. The interior walls are a smooth grey resin, and the whole cavity is dry and well-sealed against the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the outside, the assembled shed reads far more premium than “plastic shed” \u2014 a woodgrain-textured resin finish on the double doors, dark grey panels, and a solid black doorknob and lock. Tucked into the alcove beside the house, it sits neatly against the brickwork and blends in rather than standing out as an obvious storage box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want a serious shed, this is not for you. But to store a few items out of the way…it’s very neat and pretty quick to assemble. In this case, it was sheltered and we had a solid foundation but if setting it up in the yard, some sort of a base and anchoring is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a great option for anyone who wants extra storage without the upkeep of a timber shed \u2014 and proof that some of the best structural products now really do ship in a box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
