Why every door must have a door stop.
The humble old door stop is often forgotten. If you don’t have one on every door, you should!
These days there are umpteen varieties of door stops and they come in all shapes and styles. Everything from the old fashioned rubber one, to plastic and stainless.
Believe it or not, there is a science to selecting the correct door stop and locating it in the correct position. In most cases, the basic plastic door stop fitted to the base of your door or skirting board will suffice.
So why do I need one? Firstly, it’ll protect your doors and walls from damage and prevent accidents. Imagine the door handle going through the plaster! It happens frequently. In some situations, gusts of wind can slam your door, so you will need a magnetic door stop to hold it open. Got a glass door, got kids or pets? A door stop is the answer!
Poorly located and designed doors may need expert attention. The swing of the door and the positioning of the stop may seem impossible. Also an incorrectly positioned stop may fracture a door frame or break a hinge. Sometimes the floor material or the height of your door gap may also make it difficult to install correctly.
Save yourself hundreds of dollars in damage and install a door stop today.
